Outdoor bowls is very popular at Limavady. There is a diverse and growing membership which allows for a welcoming atmosphere, and a combination of youth and experience when competing.
With the high level of participation, Limavady is able to enter three teams into the different leagues within the NIPBA (Northern Ireland Provincial Towns Bowling Association), namely:
1. Senior Team – plays on a Saturday afternoon within the ‘Premier Division’
2. Junior Team – plays on a Tuesday evening within ‘Division 1’
3. Roe Valley – plays on a Wednesday evening within ‘Division 3’
All three teams consist of 16 players, therefore there are a total of 48 players competing in the various leagues every single week, with cup ties and friendlies often increasing this amount.
There is plenty of opportunity for new entrants to join and compete for a place. There are selection panels assigned for each team who meet weekly during the season to pick teams and assess the players.
The season runs from April to September. Make an enquiry on the form below if interested, or come and watch a home game and experience what outdoor bowls is all about - you will be warmly welcomed!
Limavady boasts a growing amount of young players, with several of them representing Ireland at the highest level in the sport. Shauna O’Neill, an under 25 member, was selected for the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham! We congratulate and support her in this proud moment for
our club.
